OYO appoints Sonal Sinha as CEO of newly acquired G6 Hospitality.

07-March 2025
OYO has appointed Sonal Sinha as the CEO of G6 Hospitality, the American motel chain it recently acquired from Blackstone Real Estate. The acquisition, completed in December, added 1,500 franchised hotels across the U.S. and Canada to OYO’s portfolio, significantly strengthening its North American footprint. The combined entity is projected to generate a gross booking value of $3 billion, with G6 Hospitality—operator of Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands—contributing $1.7 billion.
Sinha, a chartered accountant, has been with OYO since 2015 and previously served as CFO for its international business. He played a key role in improving business margins and establishing financial controls, including tax, accounting, and reconciliation frameworks. OYO Founder & Group CEO Ritesh Agarwal praised Sinha’s leadership, citing his deep operational knowledge and strong track record in driving business performance as key factors in his appointment. Sinha will continue to report to Gautam Swaroop, CEO of OYO International.
Meanwhile, OYO’s Chief Growth Officer, Kavikrut, is stepping down to become CEO of T-Hub, India’s largest startup incubator. Agarwal acknowledged Kavikrut’s contributions in shaping OYO’s culture and growth, emphasizing his role in navigating both challenges and successes. While OYO will miss his leadership, Agarwal expressed confidence that Kavikrut’s new role will bring immense value to Telangana’s startup and tech ecosystem.
