OYO has announced a $10 million (approximately INR 87 crore) investment to enhance the digital infrastructure of G6 Hospitality, the operator of Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the US. This funding will focus on improving the Motel 6 website and My6 app, to quadruple app downloads before the summer season.

  1. Targeted Digital Marketing for Better Conversions
    The investment includes advanced digital marketing strategies aimed at attracting high-intent travelers. By collaborating with platforms like Google and Microsoft, OYO unlisted share plans to boost direct bookings and reduce reliance on third-party platforms, strengthening G6 Hospitality's online presence.

  2. Supporting Franchise Partners
    Shashank Jain, Head of Online Revenue at G6 Hospitality, emphasized optimizing marketing spend to target likely bookers and maximize franchisee benefits. This strategy will help drive more direct traffic and improve profitability for G6's franchise network.

  3. Post-Acquisition Growth
    The investment is part of OYO’s broader plans for G6 Hospitality, which it acquired from Blackstone Real Estate for $525 million. OYO aims to expand G6’s portfolio by adding 150+ new properties in 2025, focusing on key markets like Texas, California, Georgia, and Arizona, while preserving the brands’ identity.

  4. Strengthening Operational Tech
    G6 Hospitality is also partnering with Hotelkey to enhance operational technology across its US and Canadian properties, improving both operational efficiency and guest experience.
